WHAT WE BELIEVE We believe that God created man and gave him the freedom to choose his destiny. He tells us, “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse, so choose
life” (Deut 30:19). This righteous God will judge man according to his own deeds which man chooses for himself—not by what his parents have already chosen for him, and not based upon the agreement of the nation and
religion which he inherited. This loving God told man, “Choose life.” God gave us life, and this life is in His Son, Whom He appointed heir of all things (Heb 1:2). We believe, as the Bible says, “All of us like
sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way” (Is 53:6), and that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23). But that loving God did not judge us according to our sins, but “gave
His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). So much did God love us that He put the punishment of our sins on His righteous Son, “who knew no sin to be sin
on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21), by giving Himself as a sacrifice on the cross, so that we “should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). This Jesus, the Son
of the living God, became the only saviour. The prophets of God gave witness that through Him we can receive forgiveness of sins. It is written, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven that has been given among men, by which we might be saved” (Acts 4:12), and “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:10).
Because God has fixed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness through Jesus, “that’s why we are now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent and turn to the living God, for He is ready to
forgive them their sins and the times of ignorance” (Acts 17:30). This good news of Jesus Christ is found in the Bible. |
